What’s The Difference Between Botox and Dysport?
Botox and Dysport are considered non-invasive wrinkle treatments with quick recovery. Botox is the most well-known injection, but there are others. Dysport is becoming more and more known for its stunning results in the treatment of frown lines.
Although there are numerous parallels between the two treatments, there are also some differences. Here, Orchid Medical tells the differences between them!
What Is Botox?
In addition to glabellar lines, Botox is FDA-approved to treat small wrinkles around the eyes (crow's feet) and the forehead line. Unlike Dysport, which is exclusively approved for glabellar lines, this is different.
The Botox technique is similar to Dysport surgery. The operation is done in the office and requires little recovery time. The area being treated and the results you want will determine how many units your doctor uses. According to the treatment area, the following average Botox doses are suggested:
A total of 20 units and 5 injection sites for the glabellar line
A total of 40 units and 10 injection sites for glabellar and forehead lines
Crow's feet: 6 injection sites and 24 total units
Total units for all three types of sacrifice: 64
What Is Dysport?
The glabella, or space between your eyebrows, is affected by lines that are reduced by dystrophy. Between the eyebrows and towards the forehead, these lines come up. Glabella lines are more pronounced when you squint or squint. Glabella lines can gradually become more noticeable over time, even when you're unwinding.
Not mild lines, but moderate to severe glabella lines are what Dysport is intended for. You can differentiate between these types of mild and moderate wrinkles with the help of a dermatologist or plastic surgeon.
The entire Dysport procedure, if you are a candidate, is done in your doctor's office. Your doctor will apply a little anesthetic before the injection to help reduce any discomfort during the procedure. Doctors usually inject 0.05 millilitres (mL) up to five times around your eyebrows and forehead to remove wrinkles.
